Hi everyone,
The company I'm going to work for (beginning in january) is looking to expand their operations and are planning to acquire a barely used track mounted HSI crusher (KPI FT4250 rated 500TPH according to manufacturer) to produce minus 1/4" ceramic clay fines. They are expecting to reach a production of at least 125 TPH in closed circuit. The feed has a maximum size of 12", with F80=8". I don´t have any information regarding work index, but must be around 7 (think gypsum).
To this date, they have successfully operated smaller equipments to produce 3/4" to fines, but with yields of about 70 TPH. I'm afraid that, even when the FT4250 is a much bigger crusher, the capacity will be diminished because of the smaller size particle of the final product, recirculation and screen overloading. Humidity isn't a problem as the plant will be located in a desertic zone. The equipment must be mobile as it will be operating inside the quarry.
I'm an aggregates guy, familiar with multi-stage crushing and this is the first time I hear something like this. Do you think it's doable? They are asking for some advice and I'm trying to find out because I'll be in charge of this new operation along with 2 more.
