Computer hard drives are completely shredded and destroyed thus eliminating the ability to retrieve any remaining embedded data. The average hard drive is reduced to pieces that are less than 3/4″ (19mm) after passing through the hammer mill. Secondary processes can reduce these pieces to an even finer grind.

WA-Series model WA-8-H “E-Cycler” hammer mill. The 10-horsepower model WA-8-H is a versatile and configurable industrial hammermill. It is constructed of 3/8″ thick carbon/AR or 304/316 stainless steel plate and reinforced by additional 3/8″ thick abrasion resistant wear plates positioned throughout the interior of the grinding chamber. Four-way reversible, 3/8”, ½” or knife edge hammers are made from AR400 steel for long wear life. The main mill shaft is warranted against breakage for 5 full years! For particle sizing, we offer many different interchangeable perforated screens, heavy-duty perforated screens, heavy-duty bar grates, and heavy-duty slotted grate sizes. The grates are not only interchangeable but also different combinations of sizes and types of screens may be used to meet the operator’s requirements.
In addition to the interchangeable grate sizes, hammer tip speed / RPM is also important to dial into your specific application. Since the WA Series Industrial Hammermills are V-belt driven, we determine the hammer rotor speed set by the sheave sizes. In this case, we can set the mill to a moderate to slow speed in order to separate the material components without over-pulverizing. The VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) allows you to further control the speed of the hammer mill rotor. With the VFD, you can increase or decrease the set sheave speed. Faster mill speed will result in finer particle size and vice versa.
Optional items such as the infeed chute, discharge chute, support stand, and feeder hopper/conveyor, are always custom-designed and manufactured to your specifications. We will provide you with drawings (based upon your input) for your review. You may accept or modify these drawings as required, and we do not begin fabrication of these items until you have approved and signed off on their design.
