Hello msammet, and welcome to 911Met Forums,

I do not have guidance on shell thickness.  Have you done a detailed read on https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/ball-mill-design-power-example-calculation as it is a step-by-step example on Ball Mill design/sizing.

Including online calculators:

https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/how-to-size-a-ball-mill-design-calculator-formula
https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/calculate-ball-mill-grinding-capacity

If you can be more specific in your question, I could maybe help you better.

Hello David ,
thank you David for your answer and I'm happy to join 911 Met Forums.
I am searching for both aspects, design and sizing ball mill (calculation of thickness of shell , Ø of shell , ... ) .
my request is there is a standards to determine :
- diameter and length of ball mill
- the thickness of the shell
- and other parameters needed for construction.

I hope that my request is clear .

Hello Abdellatif,

I am certain there are standards with regards to thickness of the shells and the various parameters needed for construction of a ball mill.  I just do not know what they are.

What I know about diameter and length of ball mill is detailed in the example set by a ball mill manufacturer at https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/ball-mill-design-power-example-calculation

For metallurgists, we are generally only considered with size the mill motor and shell lenght  + diameter itself as you can calculate at https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/ball-mill-motorpower-sizing-calculation

https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/how-to-size-a-ball-mill-design-calculator-formula

https://redesign.911metallurgist.com/blog/calculate-ball-mill-grinding-capacity

Stay present as others may have information I do not have.
