Hi all,

We are operating gold plant , we use NaCN to treat gold bearing ore.

Is it safe to burn the wooden container and plastic bag after use.

NO - although combustion destroys cyanide, you run the risk of causing airborne dust to escape during combustion that may contain undestroyed cyanide.  Further, the combustion products may be irritating, corrosive or toxic typically NOx.

The boxes and bags should be disposed of according to the manufacture's recommendations. Empty cyanide containers should be treated as hazardous waste.
