In adding lime for cation bonds in an agglomeration barrel (as well as portland cement), what type of lime is this - ag lime (fine crushed limestone), quicklime or hydrated lime?

The actual product used is hydrated lime, which is quicklime in a slurry made from finely ground limestone (ag lime). Most operations buy the cheapest form (crushed limestone) and then grind and slurry it to add as an agglomerate.

A friend who wrote https://www.researchgate.net/publication/251602334_Evaluation_of_stucco_binder_for_agglomeration_in_the_heap_leaching_of_copper_ore

Tells me Stucco (calcium sulfate hemihydrate) can be used as a binder in agglomeration.

A good reference paper on agglomeration is attached.
