As pure metal elements get colder, close to absolute zero, do their protons and neutrons lose their ability to avoid combining with other atoms especially if the system is under great pressure, say 300 GPa? Could they combine to form other elements? Let us say, Vanadium 23 becomes Palladium 46.

Unlikely, at ultralow temperatures the atoms slow down and are less likely to react.

May need to go past 1000GPa, but I think it can be done. I'm not sure how to compress pure metal to 1000 GPa or more, however. Any ideas?
