Should we choose wet or dry grinding ball mill for 660000 tonnes/year olivine, how to calculate mass balance for the ball mill? What assumptions should be applied to the design of the ball mill to satisfy the requirement that the product size is less than 10 microns. Feed size will be 300 microns.

Interesting set of questions, with complicated answers.  First off, what type of processing are you planning, it makes a difference in the wet vs dry portion.  Next, a ball mill would not be the normal choice to go from 300 microns to 10 microns, rather it would be the choice to get to 300 microns.  Normally the way to get to 10 microns would be to take the ball mill product and then use pulverizers to get to the 10 micron range.

Olivine is fed into the ball mill along with water. Feed size olivine is 400 microns and final desired product size from hydrocyclone is 10 microns. Design a process including ball mill and hydrocyclone according to the above requirements and calculate mass balance and energy balance. Are there any percentage passing size from the ball mill? And the percentage of overflow and underflow of the hydrocyclone?

This is what I want for my design. 75 ton/hr olivine is fed into the ball mill along with water. Feed size olivine is 300 microns and final desired product size from hydrocyclone is 10 microns. Design a process including ball mill and hydrocyclone according to the above requirements and calculate mass balance and energy balance. Giving that the Bond work index of olivine is 12.38 kwh/tonne. I have attached a pfd that I can refer to for my process. I don't know what assumptions I should put in order to apply to the calculation.
